Salary in hand / CTC estimate
In-hand from gross, basic, and the new-regime slabs. No assumed CTC split.
Estimate only. It uses the pay you type and the new-regime slabs for FY 2025-26. It is not a filing and it will not split a CTC for you.
What this tool does
The salary calculator estimates monthly in-hand from a monthly gross you type. It will not split a CTC. Employer PF, gratuity, or a bonus inside a CTC figure are not guessed. New-regime slabs for FY 2025-26 are applied to annual gross minus a ₹75,000 standard deduction when you mark the income as salary: nil on the first ₹4 lakh, then 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 percent on each next ₹4 lakh, then 30 percent. Section 87A is applied so tax is nil when taxable income is ₹12,00,000 or less. Above that, tax is the lower of the slab tax and the amount by which taxable income exceeds ₹12,00,000, which is an approximate marginal relief, then 4 percent cess. Employee PF is 12 percent of basic only if you enter basic and switch PF on. An optional ceiling uses ₹15,000 of basic. ESI at 0.75 percent applies only when monthly gross is ₹21,000 or less. Professional tax is the annual amount you type, divided by 12. PF is not treated as an 80C deduction in this new-regime estimate.
How to use it
Enter monthly gross from a payslip, not a CTC. Enter basic only if you want PF. Tick the ceiling only if that wage cap applies to the basic you entered. Mark salaried to include the standard deduction. Type annual professional tax only if you already know the year's deduction. Read the notes under the result. They restate the slabs, the rebate, and the fact that this is not a filing and not advice.
Worked example
Monthly gross ₹1,00,000, basic ₹50,000, salaried, PF on, no ceiling, and no professional tax. Annual gross is ₹12,00,000. Taxable income is ₹11,25,000 after the ₹75,000 standard deduction, which is at or under ₹12,00,000, so income tax is ₹0 even though the slab arithmetic before the rebate would not be zero. Employee PF is ₹6,000. ESI is ₹0 because gross is above ₹21,000. In-hand is ₹94,000. A second case, monthly gross ₹1,50,000 and basic ₹60,000 on the same switches, has taxable income ₹17,25,000, annual tax ₹1,50,800 after cess, monthly tax ₹12,567, PF ₹7,200, and in-hand ₹1,30,233. Neither case started from a CTC. The jobs link on this page opens the published job list, with no keyword forced. An empty list means nothing published matched. It is not a comment on the wider market. A signed-in candidate can save the attempt on their profile. Saving is not an application, and it does not show the attempt to an employer. Employers see people who apply to their own jobs.
Questions
- Can I type a CTC and get in-hand?
- No. The calculator asks for monthly gross. It will not assume a 40 percent basic or any other split.
- When is income tax zero in this estimate?
- When taxable income, after the standard deduction you switched on, is ₹12,00,000 or less. That is the new-regime rebate used here, not a filing.
- Does it apply a state's professional tax slab?
- Only if you type an annual amount. It does not look up a state.
- Is ESI included above ₹21,000 gross?
- No. Employee ESI at 0.75 percent is applied only when monthly gross is ₹21,000 or less.
