AI mock interview
Four questions, a note on each answer, and a final score.
Describe a piece of work you finished recently. What was the situation, what did you do, and what changed?
What this tool does
The mock interview asks four questions and stops. The rules bank is fixed: a recent piece of work and what changed, which part of the role is already familiar, a time a constraint changed the plan, and how you check your work before handing it over. The role name you are practising is appended so the prompt stays tied to that title. A configured model can phrase feedback, and the page still marks it for review. Without a key, the rules engine scores the answer in front of it. The per-answer score starts at 30 if you typed anything, adds up to 40 for length, and adds 30 if the text contains a digit or a word such as because, result, reduced, increased, built, led, handled, or wrote. Under 12 words, the note asks for the situation and the result. The final score gives 25 points for each answer over 12 words and 10 otherwise, so four long answers score 100 and four short ones score 40.
How to use it
Type the role you want to practise, then answer in full sentences. Do not paste a slogan. Name what you did and what changed, with a figure only if it is yours. Read the note before the next question. The interview does not hire you and does not compare you with other candidates. Four answers end the round. Start again if you want a cleaner story.
Worked example
Role: accounts assistant. Answer one, over 12 words and containing “because”: “I closed the vendor ledger because two invoices had been booked twice, and the balance dropped by the duplicate.” That answer is long enough for the 25-point final-score step and it trips the specificity check, so the rules note says you named an action or a result and a person still has to judge it. An answer of “I am hard-working” stays under the length bar and does not name a result. The jobs link on this page opens the published job list, with no keyword forced. An empty list means nothing published matched. It is not a comment on the wider market. A signed-in candidate can save the attempt on their profile. Saving is not an application, and it does not show the attempt to an employer. Employers see people who apply to their own jobs.
Questions
- How many questions are there?
- Four. The round ends after the fourth answer.
- Is the final score a hiring decision?
- No. On the rules path it reflects length and whether you named an outcome. A person still has to judge the story.
- What if no model key is set?
- The same four questions still run on the rules engine, and the page says so.
