What this tool does
The TDS calculator multiplies an amount by a percent you enter and subtracts that tax from the amount. Presets of 1, 2, and 10 only fill the box. They are not a ruling that section 194C, 194J, or any other section applies, and they are not a threshold check. The tool does not know whether the payee has a PAN, whether a lower-deduction certificate exists, or whether the payment is salary under section 192. Salary tax is a different estimate, on the in-hand calculator, and even that one is labelled as not a filing. Round-off is to two decimal places. Net pay here means amount minus this deduction, not an in-hand salary.
How to use it
Enter the amount on which you are checking a deduction. Enter the rate for the section you have already selected from the law or from the advice you are following. Read tax and net. If you are unsure of the section, stop and look it up. The calculator will still multiply, which is why the result line says the rate is the one you selected.
Worked example
₹50,000 at 10 percent gives tax of ₹5,000 and a net of ₹45,000. The same amount at 1 percent is one tenth of that tax, ₹500, because the tool does nothing except apply the percent. Change the rate if 10 percent is not the section you meant. Do not use this net figure as monthly in-hand. It has no PF, no standard deduction, and no rebate. The jobs link on this page searches HiringBuddy for published roles matching “accountant”. An empty list means nothing published matched. It is not a comment on the wider market. A signed-in candidate can save the attempt on their profile. Saving is not an application, and it does not show the attempt to an employer. Employers see people who apply to their own jobs.
Questions
- Does it choose the TDS section?
- No. You type the rate. The tool does not read the nature of the payment.
- Are 1, 2, and 10 the only legal rates?
- No. They are buttons. Type the rate that belongs to the section you are checking.
- Is the net the same as in-hand salary?
- No. This is one deduction on one amount. Salary in-hand is a different calculator.
