What this tool does
Subject quiz is the multiple-choice check on the Teaching and education hub. How to aim a lesson and a question paper. There are 4 items. Each item has one keyed option. The page is there so you can rehearse the distinction before an interview, not so the site can rank you against other people. Item 1 asks “A lesson goal is strongest when it”. The option this quiz marks correct is “Names what the learner will do by the end”. One observable goal is enough for the plan generator. The other choices are Lists every chapter in the book; Repeats the textbook title; Is kept secret. Item 2 asks “Questions in one paper should”. The option this quiz marks correct is “Mix a short recall item with a short application item”. The outline tool writes one recall and one application line per topic you typed. The other choices are All ask for the same recall; Depend on an untaught topic; Include the teacher's opinion as the key. Item 3 asks “An example in class should be”. The option this quiz marks correct is “Checked by you before you teach it”. The plan tells you not to add an unchecked fact. The other choices are Invented with a fake statistic; Longer than the lesson; Unrelated to the goal. Item 4 asks “Closing a lesson can be”. The option this quiz marks correct is “Asking one learner to restate the goal”. Restating the goal shows whether it landed. The other choices are Assigning a new syllabus; A surprise test on a new chapter; Skipping the goal.
How to use it
Read the prompt, pick one option, and submit the set. You do not need an account to try it. Three correct answers out of four score 75, because the score is correct divided by the number of items, times 100, rounded to the nearest whole number. A wrong pick still leaves the explanation on the item, which is the useful part. The score is not a grade from an employer and it is not sent anywhere by itself. If you want it kept, sign in as a candidate and save the attempt. The quiz does not use a model, so it runs the same way when no AI key is configured.
Worked example
Work the first item on its own before you look at the key. It asks “A lesson goal is strongest when it”. If you choose “Names what the learner will do by the end”, that item is marked correct because One observable goal is enough for the plan generator. Then do the rest without changing an earlier answer to chase a round number. A perfect set scores 100. One miss on a four-item quiz scores 75. Zero correct scores 0. None of those numbers is a percentile. The jobs link on this page searches HiringBuddy for published roles matching “teacher”. An empty list means nothing published matched. It is not a comment on the wider market. A signed-in candidate can save the attempt on their profile. Saving is not an application, and it does not show the attempt to an employer. Employers see people who apply to their own jobs.
Questions
- How many questions are on the Subject quiz?
- This page has 4 items. The score uses that count as the denominator.
- Does a high score go to an employer?
- No. Saving an attempt stores it on your candidate profile. An employer sees applicants to their own jobs, not this quiz.
- What does the score actually measure?
- It measures how many keyed options you matched. It does not measure speed, and it does not compare you with anyone else.
- Can I retake it?
- Yes. The items stay the same, so a retake checks whether the explanation stuck. It is still practice.
