Sales pitch practice
A buyer replies in three beats. Do not invent a price.
We have ten minutes. What problem do you think we already have?
What this tool does
Pitch practice is a three-beat role-play. The buyer asks what problem you think they already have, using only what they just told you, then what happens in the first month if they say yes, with any price you were not given left out, then who else needs to agree and what you would send them. The rules score starts at 40, adds 20 if the reply is longer than eight words, 20 if it acknowledges (sorry, understand, hear, thank), and 20 if it names a next step such as send, call, email, today, or tomorrow. A rupee sign, the letters lpa, or a percent attached to growth or share subtracts 25. The note tells you to take that figure out unless the other person already said it. A model can play the buyer when a key is set. The rules script still runs without one.
How to use it
Reply in plain sentences. Restate the problem they named. Describe the first month as tasks, not a discount. Name the person who has to agree only if the buyer mentioned them. Do not type a price, a market share, or a growth rate. When the three beats are done, the script stops and tells you to read the notes.
Worked example
Buyer: they said the team retypes the same order into two sheets. A usable reply: “I understand the retyping. In the first month I would sit with one person and map those two sheets, then email you the gaps I actually saw.” That reply acknowledges, names a next step, and adds no price. “We usually lift conversion 30 percent” trips the invented-figure check even if you believe it, because this buyer did not say it. The jobs link on this page searches HiringBuddy for published roles matching “sales”. An empty list means nothing published matched. It is not a comment on the wider market. A signed-in candidate can save the attempt on their profile. Saving is not an application, and it does not show the attempt to an employer. Employers see people who apply to their own jobs.
Questions
- Can I quote a price?
- Only if the buyer already gave it. A new rupee figure lowers the rules score.
- How many turns?
- Three buyer prompts, then the practice ends.
- Does it use a real account?
- No. The buyer is a script. Nothing is sent to a CRM.
